Job summary

The Kinetic Group is seeking an HVAC Mechanic for our Lewiston, ID plant. The role requires installing, repairing, and maintaining industrial heating, ventilation, and refrigeration systems per blueprints and codes.

Shifts include Days, Swing, and Weekend Days/Swing with 10-12 hour options. Responsibilities involve system installation, testing, and commissioning, plus duties like estimating, purchasing, and assisting with maintenance projects.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and housekeeping skills.
• Current HVAC Journeyman License (5+ years experience).
• Current Idaho Gas Fitter Class I and II License.
• Current EPA Refrigerant license (Type 608 Certification, universal).
• Ability to obtain forklift certification within 30 days of assignment.
• Ability to become qualified to wear and use a SCBA.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain a strong safety record.

Responsibilities

• Design, draft, fabricate, assemble, install, test, and maintain refrigeration, heating, ventilation, cooling, humidification, compressor, vacuum pump, and environmental control systems per blueprints and codes.
• Determine equipment location, size, capacity, control requirements, and component selection to meet requirements.
• Inspect and measure facilities to determine airflow and develop ductwork layouts.
• Prepare project estimates, bids, and appropriation requests with labor, materials, and vendor quotes.
• Install and connect system components using piping, tubing, and installation methods per design and code.
• Purge, charge, pressurize, and test systems; identify leaks and adjust as needed.
• Drain and dispose of refrigerants and fluids per regs and site policies.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and modify HVAC/refrigeration systems for reliability and efficiency.
• Perform insulation, welding, brazing, soldering, threading, and hanger installation.
• Maintain inventory and assist with equipment moves and other maintenance tasks.
