Job summary

Comfort-Air Engineering, Inc. is seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanic to join our on-site construction team. You will install, assemble, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems on commercial and residential projects, reading blueprints and following codes.

Safety is a core priority and teamwork is essential on busy job sites. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of HVAC installation experience, strong knowledge of systems and airflow, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school preferred.
• 2+ years HVAC installation experience in construction or apprenticeship equivalent.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, and airflow principles.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams.
• Familiarity with local building codes and safety standards; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install HVAC systems including ductwork, piping, units, and controls per specs and codes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, construction drawings.
• Measure, cut, and assemble duct systems and components.
• Test HVAC systems for proper operation and troubleshoot issues.
• Perform system start-ups and calibrate controls.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades on-site.
• Follow safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area.
• Document work performed and report progress to supervisors.
