Summary
The Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Mechanic installs, troubleshoots, repairs, rebuilds, services and cleans all types of residential, commercial, and industrial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration equipment and related systems to include supplied high temperature and chilled water systems up to 3 million BTU heating and 50-ton cooling. Will from time to time be required to work on larger equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Utilizing knowledge and experience of HVAC, refrigeration theory, pipe fitting and standard industry practices to maintain all heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment located at Ft. Leonard Wood Military Installation.
- Maintains, Repairs and Services the following:
Condensing type boilers supplied high temperature water systems, natural & LP gas heating and water heating equipment, air conditioning/refrigeration equipment to include scroll, reciprocating and crew type compressors, supplied chilled water systems, ice machines, walk-in cooler and freezers. All related electrical equipment, motors, fans, wiring, switches and controls. Other related equipment to include pumps, heat exchangers, solar equipment and industrial air compressors. Ability to read and understand blueprints, manuals and engineering specifications.
Qualifications
- At least four years’ experience and/or related trade school required.
- EPA Universal certification.
- Missouri LP gas certification within 6 months of hire.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Employees are required to drive company vehicles on a Federal Installation.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- High school degree or GED required.
- Related trade school preferred.
Communication Skills
Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, managers and staff members.
