Job summary

Facility Services Inc. in Frederick, MD is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanic to join our team.

You will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems to keep facilities safe, comfortable, and fully operational. You must have a high school diploma or GED, EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification, 4+ years of commercial HVAC experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 4+ years of commercial HVAC experience.
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
  • Healthcare facilities experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain NACI clearance.
  • All required federal, state, local licenses and certifications as applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

As an HVAC Mechanic, you will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems to ensure facilities remain safe, comfortable, and fully operational. You will work alongside a dedicated team supporting a vital government mission while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of four (4) years of commercial HVAC experience
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of experience working in healthcare facilities preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background investigation
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI)
  • Must possess all required federal, state, local, or contract-specific licenses and certifications applicable to the position
  • Other Duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent physical activity, including bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, climbing, reaching, standing, and walking throughout the workday. Employees must be able to use their hands for repetitive pushing, pulling, gripping, and fine motor tasks. The position requires the ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds and move items exceeding 50 pounds with assistance or appropriate equipment. Travel between work locations using a company vehicle may also be required.
