Miami University is seeking a Master Trades Specialist (AQT) in Maintenance Group 4. The role focuses on HVAC and refrigeration systems across a campus of ~200 buildings. Basic duties include installation, repair, and troubleshooting with a 4-day, 10-hour schedule (Sun-Wed, 5:00 am-3:30 pm).

The ideal candidate has 9 months of trade training and 3 years of related experience, a valid driver's license, and EPA Universal Certification. A criminal background check is required.

Qualifications

• Requires nine months training beyond high school in a skilled trade and three years of experience in that trade, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Driver's license required
• For AQT positions EPA Universal Certification required

Responsabilités

• Reviews job orders and blueprints or drawings; inspects site and consults with client; determines best method to complete project
• Estimates amount of materials and equipment needed to complete project; arranges for materials to be at job site
• Performs complex repair or installation on University facilities and property using expertise acquired through specialized training in a skilled trade
• Assists outside contractors as needed; assists crafts-persons from other trades as needed
• Maintains and cleans tools and equipment; maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner
• May prepare some paperwork; may maintain files
