Job summary

WinnCompanies is seeking a General Maintenance Technician - HVAC Specialist I for our Military Housing team at Fort Campbell, KY. You will perform maintenance across rental units, offices, and surrounding areas, ensuring safe, high-quality service for residents and staff.

The role requires a current HVAC license, basic tools, and the ability to diagnose and repair HVAC systems, along with general maintenance tasks and on-call emergency responses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
• A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet driving records standards.
• Current HVAC license.
• Proficiency in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, flooring, or appliances.
• Ability to provide basic tools and equipment necessary to perform daily duties.
• Solid customer service skills.
• Basic familiarity with computers and web-based applications.
• Ability to read and write in English and take direction from supervisors.
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.
• This position requires REAL ID compliant driver's license/ID for federal facility access.

Responsibilities

• Identify, diagnose, repair, and complete advanced troubleshooting of HVAC systems and parts.
• Diagnose HVAC issues, such as no heat or no air.
• Understand pressures and system capabilities, including freon.
• Replace commonly-used parts in HVAC systems.
• Assist with replacement of full HVAC systems.
• Respond to service calls related to residential maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliances).
• Complete service calls/Change of Occupancy Maintenance work.
• Complete repairs as directed by supervisor or management.
• Transport, install, and connect stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, and other appliances.
• Transport equipment and load/unload from trucks.
• Respond to after-hours on-call emergencies and urgent repairs.
• Operate power tools and power equipment.
• Update work order status with time, materials, and notes on mobile devices.
• Keep supervisor informed of activities and potential problems; recommend corrective actions.
• Work cooperatively and professionally with customers, staff, contractors, and the public.
