Job summary

WinnCompanies is seeking a General Maintenance Technician - HVAC Specialist I for its military housing team at Fort Hood, TX. The role involves diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems, performing advanced troubleshooting, and supporting on-call emergency repairs.

A high school diploma and a current HVAC license are required, with strong customer service and basic carpentry, electrical, or plumbing skills. REAL ID compliance is required to access the federal facility.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Current HVAC license.
Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
Ability to read and write in English to understand instructions.
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.
Valid driver’s license in good standing.
Basic familiarity with computers and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

Identify, diagnose, repair, and troubleshoot HVAC systems and parts.
Diagnose issues like no heat or no air.
Replace common HVAC parts and assist with full system replacement.
Respond to service calls for residential maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliances).
Update work orders with time, materials, and notes.
Operate power tools and equipment; maintain safety and professionalism.
