Job summary

Waterloo Central School District is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic (HVAC) for a 12-month position. The role involves ensuring safe operation, repair, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

You will install and repair electrical and plumbing components and may supervise contractor work. The position requires a trade school HVAC program or 3 years HVAC experience, a valid driver’s license, and NYSED fingerprint clearance.

Qualifications

• HVAC experience required or three years of HVAC field experience.
• Includes ability to work with electrical controls, thermostats, relays, pumps, and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develops operating, repair, maintenance, and safety practices for HVAC systems.
• Repairs and replaces electrical controls, thermostats, relays, pumps, and related equipment.
• Investigates and resolves complaints concerning heating and ventilating.
• Performs emergency repairs to ensure reinstatement of serviceability.
• Installs and repairs electrical systems, plumbing and piping.
• Reviews work done by contractors and may perform work in other trades as necessary.
• Participates in snow and ice control activities.
• Operates a motor vehicle in connection with assignments.
