The Installer – Lead Mechanic Pro provides a high-quality customer experience by performing heating and air conditioning installations that meet company standards. Installations will include advanced controls and troubleshooting abilities. This position will also supervise the work of other installers to maintain exceptional and timely job performance.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work from 28’ extension ladder and 12’ step ladder
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling License
- Ability to lift/move up to 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Work in loud conditions
- Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, climb, balance, and smell
- Sitting may be required up to 75% of the time due to driving
- Visual requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- Meet all qualifications and have tools required for Junior Tech to Lead Mechanic Pro levels
Skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Safe operation of hand and power tools, testing devices, genie and scissor lifts
- Effective communication with customers and coworkers
- Excellent customer service and handling challenging situations
- Installation and troubleshooting of air conditioning units, heat pumps, furnaces, air handlers (including geothermal)
- Refrigeration cycle troubleshooting
- Knowledge of line and low voltage systems, connecting accessories including zoning systems
- Design, installation, and troubleshooting of duct systems
- Installation of hydronic and multizone mini-split systems
Responsibilities & Expectations
- Adhere to vehicle policies and procedures

- Complete jobs within labor budget and all paperwork daily
- Troubleshoot residential and light commercial systems

- Obtain or have ability for residential air balancing certification
- Ensure compliance with local codes and pass inspections
- Manage installation teams and supervise projects
- Follow instructions from supervisors/dispatchers
- Properly size and draw ductwork
- Train installation employees
- Address customer complaints and find beneficial solutions
- Maintain professional appearance and attitude
- Oversee installations from start to finish independently
