Job summary
Carrier Global Corporation seeks an experienced HVAC Engineering Staff Lab Technician for 1st shift in Charlotte. You will conduct test runs on water-cooled and air-cooled chillers, ensuring they meet exact customer specifications and safety standards.
Responsibilities include setting up instrumentation, diagnosing equipment issues, calibrating lab tools, and maintaining compliance with EPA refrigerant handling and 5S/EHS policies. Strong electrical safety knowledge is essential.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- AS or AAS in Mechatronics Engineering Technology or related trades preferred.
- Experience with test labs and high-power electrical/mechanical systems is expected.
Responsibilities
- Execute test runs on water/air-cooled chillers with instrumentation.
- Work with 460V/3ph/60Hz equipment and EPA refrigerant handling compliance.
- Diagnose PLCs, VFDs, and instrumentation failures; coordinate repairs.
- Calibrate lab equipment for pressure, temp, flow, and electrical measurements.
