Job summary

Modine Manufacturing Company in Buena Vista, Virginia, is seeking a Lab Technician to join the Heating team. You will set up and test equipment, maintain calibrated instruments, and compile reports with test results.

This full-time, salaried non-exempt role requires a technical degree and hands-on data acquisition experience; you will collaborate with Quality and Engineering to analyze results.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in a technical discipline preferred plus 4-8 years of technical work experience, or 7-11 years equivalent experience in a technical discipline.
• Understanding of HVAC&R design and operation, fixture design and fabrication, instrumentation and data acquisition.
• Ability to multi-task in a quality-driven yet time-sensitive environment.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests per Laboratory Work Order (LWO) according to the written work instructions.
• Set up and perform computer/data acquisition
• Assist with measurement system calibration
• Ensure compliance of test systems with electrical safe work practices, hazard identification / remediation, and OSHA requirements in support of zero incident safety culture.
• Interpret industry safety testing standards (UL, ETL, NFPA) applicable to the products, and assure alignment with internal safety, test and quality standards, product specifications and procedures.
• Assist Quality and Engineering teams in internal and customer return product failure analysis.
• Generate test reports
