Job summary

Belcan Corporation in Charlotte, NC seeks an HVAC Lab Technician to set up test environments, run water- and air-cooled chillers, and ensure safe, efficient operation in the lab.

The candidate will perform calibration, test execution, and data reporting, with a focus on diagnosing issues and improving uptime. Prior experience with HVAC systems and lab maintenance is preferred; candidates must be capable of handling electrical and refrigeration equipment on industrial test rigs.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience with hand/pneumatic tools, flow, temperature pressure measuring equipment
• Handling precision measuring instruments
• 3+ years experience in Chiller/HVAC operations or station
• 2+ years shop experience in mechanical/electrical machinery

Responsibilities

• Chiller test operation at high efficiency and safety standards
• Operates, inspects and maintains chillers, test setups and equipment
• Work with electrical equipment including 460-3-60 machinery and HVAC operation
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and refrigeration systems on Charlotte manufactured equipment
• Coach team members and collaborate with cross functional teams to drive resolution
• Maintain lab safety and uptime, follow 5S and EHS policies
• Report test status, issues, and analytics to relevant teams
• Proactively resolve testing hurdles and coordinate with development partners
