Qualifications

HVAC Installation Manager Arnold, MD $104,000-$114,000 per year Schedule: Monday through Friday Full-Time

An established HVAC contractor is seeking an experienced HVAC Installation Manager to lead and strengthen its residential installation department.

This is an opportunity for an experienced HVAC professional who understands what it takes to move a job successfully from the sales process through installation and final completion. We are looking for someone who can combine strong technical HVAC knowledge with organization, communication, accountability, and team leadership.

You will work closely with installers and the sales team to make sure jobs are properly scoped, crews have the information and materials they need, installation standards are maintained, and potential problems are identified before they become expensive callbacks or customer issues.

The company has employees who have remained with the organization for many years, including some with approximately 20 years of tenure. The reason people stay so long is because workplace has a light, productive atmosphere where people get their work done and enjoy working together.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Oversee the day-to-day performance and workflow of the HVAC installation department.
• Review sold-job paperwork, photos, measurements, and other information before installation.
• Confirm the complete scope of work and identify missing or inaccurate information before a job is released to the field.
• Coordinate with the sales team when clarification or additional job information is needed.
• Prepare clear installation instructions and work-order information for field crews.
• Determine equipment and material requirements and help ensure materials are available before the scheduled installation.
• Schedule and coordinate residential replacement and installation projects.
• Support approximately two lead installers and two apprentice-level installers as the department continues to develop.
• Monitor installation quality, productivity, callbacks, job completion, and other department performance measures.
• Perform jobsite or quality-control checks as needed.
• Resolve installation-related employee and customer concerns promptly and professionally.
• Establish expectations and hold team members accountable for workmanship, organization, safety, and performance.
• Help develop a more structured training process for installers and apprentices.
• Support continued implementation and effective use of ServiceTitan and other field technology.
• Create a clean, organized, team-oriented installation operation.

What We're Looking For

This role requires someone who knows residential HVAC installation. We are not looking for a general manager who would need to learn the technical side of the department after being hired.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Significant residential HVAC installation experience.
• Previous experience leading installers, technicians, projects, or an HVAC department.
• Strong understanding of HVAC equipment, installation procedures, applications, and terminology.
• Ability to read a duct calculator and properly evaluate residential ductwork layouts.
• Knowledge of job planning, equipment sizing, materials, and installation requirements.
• Ability to identify installation concerns before the crew arrives at the job.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities at the same time.
• A team-focused leadership style combined with the willingness to hold people accountable.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Comfort tracking performance and using data to improve department results.Basic computer skills; experience with ServiceTitan is a plus.

Knowledge of ACCA Manual J calculations and duct sizing is strongly preferred. The previous position description specifically called for familiarity with Manual J and the ability to size ductwork accordingly.
