Job summary

HVAC Install Manager

Advanced Air | Thatcher, AZ | Full-Time

Advanced Air is looking for an HVAC Install Manager who wants to own a department, not just supervise one.

This is a P&L-level leadership role. You'll run the residential HVAC Installation department end to end - the crews, the board, the margin, and the standard of workmanship that leaves our name on every home in the Gila Valley. You'll be measured on gross margin, quality control, and how well your people perform and grow under you, and you'll be given the authority and support to actually move those numbers.

If you've led install crews, know your way around job costing and a P&L, and take real pride in a system that passes inspection the first time and a customer who calls us back by name - this is your seat.

Key Responsibilities

• Exceed budgeted monthly gross margin dollars in Residential HVAC Installation
• Exceed budgeted monthly quality control KPIs
• Set clear expectations and accountability with your team to drive efficiency, eliminate go-backs, and protect work-life balance
• Maintain A/R below 5% of monthly revenue for the HVAC Installation department
• Partner with branch leadership to build a monthly operational budget that beats branch objectives
• Participate in an in-person daily huddle to review the prior day's results and plan the next three days
• Build strong relationships with your teammates through clear communication and fast resolution of concerns, questions, and problems
• Conduct effective monthly one-on-ones with every teammate, reviewing personal goals and scorecards
• Conduct weekly technician work-alongs, completing the ride-along form to sustain and improve performance
• Perform weekly post-install white glove inspections to guarantee installation quality and customer satisfaction
• Own all safety training, processes, and reporting to protect every teammate; report every injury or accident to the General Manager immediately and work to minimize legal liability for the branch
• Monitor daily department material, equipment, and payroll expenses; review and approve all department invoices
• Maintain department statistics, including the 3-day installation board
• Review HVAC install client satisfaction and issues daily, resolving same-day
• Participate in monthly staffing planning meetings and block calendar time to interview candidates and follow the hiring process for quality hires and reduced turnover
• Lead and develop the HVAC Install team - hiring, training, coaching, documented discipline, and terminations - while consistently implementing and enforcing the Employee Handbook
• Complete weekly payroll updates to control overtime, manage expenses, and ensure accuracy
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a supervisor or manager within a service industry operation, with a proven, consistent track record of meeting and exceeding revenue objectives
• Experience analyzing cost and forecast data to align with business objectives, including job costing and operational profit and loss
• Working knowledge of laws governing business and employment in the local area
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable using a tablet, smartphone, and GPS or map navigation
• Neat, clean, professional appearance with excellent interpersonal communication skills, a drive to exceed client expectations, and the ability to thrive in a team environment
• Insurable driving record and clear criminal background as required by state law for home service companies and by company insurance carriers
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen

Working Conditions

This role splits time between an office environment and the field. Requires occasional climbing, lifting, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and reaching, with occasional lifting of 5-10 pounds. Requires good visual acuity, including close and distance focus, normal peripheral vision, and normal depth perception. Must be willing to work hours outside the normal schedule when needed.
