Reliable Heating & Air in Knightdale, NC is seeking an HVAC Install Mechanic for our residential new construction team. You will install full HVAC systems from rough-in to trim-out and lead a helper on the job site.

Expect year-round install work and focus on clean, code-compliant installations. Requirements include 2+ years of residential HVAC experience, ability to read plans, and brazing/pressure testing skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of residential HVAC installation experience.
• Able to read plans and lay out duct systems.
• Experience brazing, pressure testing, and setting equipment.
• EPA 608 certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Own basic hand tools.
• Able to work in attics, crawlspaces, and outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Rough-In: Lay out and install duct systems, plenums, boots, line sets, condensate lines, and venting in new homes.
• Trim-Out & Equipment Set: Set furnaces, air handlers, heat pumps, and condensers; install registers, thermostats, and finish connections.
• Brazing & Line Sets: Braze, pressure test, and evacuate refrigerant lines to manufacturer specs.
• Quality & Code: Ensure installs meet code and pass inspection on first pass.
• Lead a Helper: Direct and mentor the install helper, keep the site safe and productive.
• Communication: Update Field Supervisor on progress, material needs, and issues.

Reliable Heating & Air is growing, and we're looking for a skilled HVAC Install Mechanic to join our residential new construction team in Knightdale. You'll install complete HVAC systems in brand-new homes, from rough-in through trim-out and equipment set, and lead a helper on the job site. If you take pride in clean, code-compliant work and want steady, year-round install work, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

• Rough-In: Lay out and install duct systems, plenums, boots, line sets, condensate lines, and venting in new homes.
• Trim-Out & Equipment Set: Set furnaces, air handlers, heat pumps, and condensers; install registers, thermostats, and finish connections.
• Brazing & Line Sets: Braze, pressure test, and evacuate refrigerant lines to manufacturer specs.
• Quality & Code: Make sure every install meets code and passes mechanical inspection the first time.
• Lead a Helper: Direct and teach your install helper, keeping the job site safe, clean, and productive.
• Communication: Keep your Field Supervisor updated on job progress, materials needs, and any job site issues.

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of residential HVAC installation experience; new construction experience preferred
• Able to read plans and lay out duct systems
• Experience brazing, pressure testing, and setting equipment
• EPA 608 certification preferred
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required
• Own basic hand tools
• Dependable, on time, and a team player
• Able to work in attics, crawlspaces, and outdoors in all weather, climb ladders, and lift 50+ lbs
