Job summary

Big Horn Heating and Cooling seeks an Install Technician Apprentice in Jackson, WY to support the installation team in the setup, assembly, and commissioning of HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical systems. This entry-level role provides hands-on training and development, preparing the apprentice to become a skilled installer through mentorship and supervised practical experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment in or completion of technical school or trade program preferred.
• No prior installation experience required; willingness to learn is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced installers with residential and commercial system installations
• Learn to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and installation instructions
• Handle materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently
• Perform basic assembly, installation, and alignment tasks under supervision
• Observe and assist with system start-ups, testing, and calibration
• Maintain clean and safe job sites
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and manufacturer installation guidelines
• Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good condition
• Participate in training sessions, safety meetings, and on-the-job mentoring
• Provide excellent customer service and professionalism on job sites
• Perform other related duties as assigned
