Job summary

We Care Plumbing, Heating & Air in San Marcos, CA is seeking an HVAC Install Apprentice to assist licensed technicians with setting up and installing heating and cooling systems in homes and businesses. You’ll learn hands-on on the job and start building practical HVAC skills for a long-term career.

Under supervision, you will use hand and power tools, follow blueprints, and ensure work meets building codes and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrollment in HVAC apprenticeship or trade school preferred.
• Willingness to learn HVAC installation practices and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist HVAC installers with setup, installation, and replacement of HVAC systems.
• Prepare tools, materials, and work areas; measure, cut, drill, and assemble under supervision.
• Follow blueprints and project instructions; ensure compliance with codes and safety rules.
• Maintain clean, safe, organized job sites and document work performed.
• Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers; participate in training and safety meetings.

Job Location: We Care Plumbing, Heating & Air (San Marcos) - SAN MARCOS, CA 92078, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $18.00 - $24.00 Hourly, Travel Percentage: None, Position Summary

As an HVAC Install Apprentice, you'll support licensed technicians and installers with setting up and installing heating and air conditioning systems in homes and businesses, learning hands-on as you go. It's a trade with steady, reliable demand, and this is where you start building real skills for a long-term career.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist HVAC installers with the setup, installation, and replacement of HVAC systems, including ductwork and wiring
• Prepare tools, materials, and work areas, and perform basic tasks like measuring, cutting, drilling, and assembling under supervision
• Follow blueprints, schematics, and project instructions from senior technicians, ensuring all work meets building codes and safety regulations
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites, and document work performed and time logs as required
• Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers, and take part in training and safety meetings to build your HVAC trade knowledge

Qualifications: Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Enrollment in or interest in an HVAC apprenticeship or trade school program preferred

Experience

• Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hand and power tools
• Willingness to learn HVAC installation practices and safety protocols

Licenses/Certifications

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision
• Good teamwork and communication skills

Physical Demands and Conditions

• Lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods
• Work performed indoors, outdoors, and sometimes in confined spaces or varying weather conditions

Work Environment/Travel

• Field-based role with daily travel to residential and commercial job sites
• May require evening, weekend, or overtime work depending on project schedules
