Jake's Heating, Air & Plumbing in Indiana is seeking a motivated HVAC Install Helper to work with our installation team on residential systems. You will gain hands-on training, learn ductwork, equipment setup, and safe work practices while supporting experienced installers.

Qualifications

• Prior HVAC, construction, or hands-on trade experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installations of furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and HVAC systems.
• Learn HVAC equipment, ductwork, tools, and installation techniques.
• Prepare job sites, load/unload equipment, organize materials.
• Support lead installers with placement, ductwork, and system connections.
• Stay safety-conscious and maintain clean, organized work areas.
• Deliver professional customer service and keep documentation tidy.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assist with Installations: Work alongside experienced installers to install and replace residential furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and HVAC systems.
• Learn the Trade: Gain hands-on experience with HVAC equipment, ductwork, tools, installation techniques, and industry best practices.
• Prepare Job Sites: Help load and unload equipment, organize materials, and ensure everything is ready for a successful installation.
• Support the Install Team: Assist lead installers with equipment placement, ductwork, system connections, and installation tasks.
• Develop Technical Skills: Learn how to assist with system start-ups, testing, troubleshooting, and adjustments under supervision.
• Maintain Safety & Quality: Follow company safety procedures and maintain clean, organized work areas.
• Deliver Great Customer Service: Treat customers, their homes, and your teammates with professionalism and respect.
• Stay Organized: Assist with job documentation, equipment tracking, and keeping company vehicles and tools organized.

What We're Looking For

• Previous HVAC, construction, mechanical, or other hands-on trade experience is preferred, but not required.
• Strong work ethic and a genuine willingness to learn.
• Dependable, punctual, and ready to work as part of a team.
• Ability to follow instructions, take feedback, and continuously improve.
• Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, and varying weather conditions.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and moving HVAC equipment with appropriate assistance.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Positive attitude and professional communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to successfully complete a background check and drug screening.

• Previous experience assisting with residential HVAC installations.
