HVAC Helper – Apprenticeship & Benefits

Job description

We are looking for an HVAC Laborer to work closely with the job site Foreman to install heating, air conditioning and ventilating systems. This includes heavy, physical tasks, working with power tools, and working in challenging conditions. The helper is expected to learn all areas of the trade.

Job Requirements

• Mechanical ability, especially use of hands.
• Understanding of power tools.
• Understanding of basic mathematics.
• Strong communication skills.
• Means to get to job sites, including multiple locations in the same day.
• A high school diploma or a general education degree is strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, push and pull.
• Ability to climb ladders and deal with heights.
• Ability to work overhead.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Lift heavy loads of up to 100 pounds.
• Bend and twist your body.
• Engage in repetitive motions for long periods of time.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting and fabricating/assembling of materials including ductwork and piping.
• Assist in the loading/unloading and distribution of materials and equipment.
• Assist in installation of equipment.
• Keeping the job site clean and orderly.
• Fulfill additional tasks assigned by the job foreman.
