Job summary

William & Mary seeks an HVAC Helper to assist in maintenance/repair of residential, commercial, and industrial HVAC systems, providing tools and parts to senior technicians and taking readings.

The role involves maintaining HVAC equipment, replacing filters and belts, cleaning coils, and coordinating with occupants. A Virginia driver’s license and EPA certification within 90 days are required; salary up to $45,000 with overtime potential.

Qualifications

• Experience in the safe use of power and hand tools (drills, wrenches, screw drivers, pliers, tubing cutters, volt meters, reciprocating saws, etc.).
• Ability to climb ladders, work over-head, maneuver in tight and confined spaces.
• Must be able to work in extreme environments (summer heat and winter cold).
• Valid Virginia Driver's License and two years of driving experience.
• EPA Licensing exam within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• HVAC Assistance: Assist in maintenance and repair of HVAC, Boiler, and Hot Water Systems; provide tools to technicians; bring parts to job sites.
• HVAC Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance, replace filters/belts, clean coils, take readings.
• HVAC Site Preparation: Setup and transport equipment; assist with site prep and access to buildings.
• Work Administration: Use work order system; document actions and follow up with supervisor.
• Other Duties: Perform additional tasks professionally as required.
