Job summary

Hanwha Philly Shipyard is seeking an HVAC Production Engineer to resolve production and regulatory issues, interfacing with production, planning, procurement, and design partners. About 50% of the time will be in the field and 50% in the office, with responsibilities spanning design reviews, material non-conformances, and BOM validation.

The role requires 4+ years in shipbuilding HVAC design/installation, proficiency with AutoCAD/2D CAD, and collaboration with regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Naval Architecture, or an Associate's degree in Engineering Technology or Drafting with shipbuilding experience.
Minimum 4 years in shipbuilding related to HVAC design/installation.

Responsibilities

Perform field engineering for HVAC and refrigeration systems; visit vessels to investigate issues and interface with production supervisors.
Review and approve production installation drawings, BOMs, and related documents; ensure alignment with standards.
Create and distribute engineering Work Packages per schedule; assist with owner change orders.
Coordinate with class, USCG, FDA and other regulatory bodies during construction and inspections.
Assist with startup and commissioning of HVAC systems; participate in dock tests and sea trials.
