Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Madison, PA is seeking a Field Service Student Technician to gain hands-on experience in an engineering environment. You will support daily operations, preventive maintenance, and basic HVAC troubleshooting at the Waltz Mill facility.

Key responsibilities include routine inspections, responding to service requests, minor repairs, documentation, and safety compliance. Must be a student and capable of lifting 50 lbs; training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be a student.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn HVAC systems.
• Ability to follow written procedures and work with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine HVAC inspections and PM tasks (filters, belts, lubrication, coil cleaning, basic checks).
• Respond to service requests and help diagnose comfort issues, escalating complex issues as needed.
• Assist with minor repairs/replacements on HVAC components and related mechanical equipment.
• Document work performed (work orders, maintenance logs) and communicate status updates.
• Support safe operation of equipment and follow site safety procedures (PPE, lockout/tagout).
• Coordinate with vendors for scheduled HVAC service and support access/escort as needed.
