Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Maintenance Trades Specialist II - HVAC at Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL. This full-time role (1st shift) requires coordinating preventive maintenance, troubleshooting building systems, and supporting fire protection systems, with on-site responsibilities and periodic on-call duties.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and 2–4 years of related experience, plus basic computer skills and the ability to work independently while communicating

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or GED.
• 2-4 years in relatable industrial/trades maintenance or operations.
• Intermediate computer skills (CMMS, MS Office, BAS).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to work with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Conducts preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on basic facility systems and documents tasks through the computerized maintenance system.
• Assists in evaluating and troubleshooting basic building system failures and performs repairs as directed.
• Operates and monitors and maintains basic Utility System Infrastructure.
• Assist in maintaining fire alarm and fire protection systems.
• Supports the installation of building hardware, electrical devices, and wall finishes under supervision.
• Maintains preventive maintenance records and equipment repair files for compliance.
• Reads blueprints, Life Safety drawings and maintenance manuals to gain knowledge needed to complete assignments.
