Job summary

UPMC in Harrisburg is hiring a full-time General Maintenance 2-HVAC/Service Tech to support the office. You will inspect and repair HVAC and related systems, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure safe, compliant operation. Tools provided except personal hand tools; typical schedule is Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years general maintenance-related work experience or completion of a trade school.
• Military experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Inspect mechanical HVAC, refrigeration, and ventilation equipment for deficiencies and perform repairs.
• Interpret blueprints and sketches to maintain equipment.
• Keep equipment in efficient, safe working order.
• Perform preventive maintenance and proactive upkeep.
• Check meters, gauges, and warning devices for issues and correct as needed.
• Work following infection control procedures.
• Complete and submit work orders; log hours daily.
• Maintain clean work areas and equipment rooms.
• Fabricate and maintain ICRA per policy and standards.
• Adhere to system-wide competencies and perform duties as assigned.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Trade school completion or apprenticeship (HVAC/maintenance)

Associates degree or trade-specific apprenticeship
