Job summary

Trueline is seeking a Commercial HVAC Estimator to join our onsite Phoenix team. You will review drawings, perform detailed takeoffs, and prepare quotations for commercial mechanical projects across the Southwest.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of HVAC estimating, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple bids. This is an onsite role in Phoenix with a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in commercial HVAC estimating.
• Experience reading commercial drawings and specs.
• Experience performing HVAC takeoffs and preparing estimates.
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems.
• Ability to price equipment and materials for plan-and-spec projects.

Responsibilities

• Review commercial drawings, mechanical plans, and specs.
• Perform detailed HVAC and airside takeoffs.
• Prepare accurate equipment quotations for commercial projects.
• Price HVAC equipment, ventilation products, and related systems.
• Manage multiple active bids and meet submission deadlines.
• Support sales representatives throughout estimating and quotation process.
• Prepare internal follow-up documentation for bids and quoted projects.
• Coordinate with sales, operations, and other departments.
• Maintain estimating files, pricing records, and bid documentation.
• Communicate clearly with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Identify scope gaps, pricing issues, and missing information.
• Support projects ranging from $1,000 to $250,000.

Trueline is seeking a Commercial HVAC Estimator to join their onsite team in Phoenix, Arizona, near Sky Harbor Airport with a well-established HVAC manufacturer's representative serving commercial mechanical contractors across the Southwest, This role is ideal for an experienced HVAC estimator who enjoys detailed plan-and-spec work, managing a steady bid volume, and supporting sales within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

What You’ll Do as the Commercial HVAC Estimator:

• Review commercial construction drawings, mechanical plans, and technical specifications
• Perform detailed HVAC and airside material takeoffs
• Prepare accurate equipment quotations for commercial mechanical projects
• Price HVAC equipment, ventilation products, and related mechanical systems
• Manage multiple active bids while meeting submission deadlines
• Support sales representatives throughout the estimating and quotation process
• Prepare internal follow-up documentation for active bids and quoted projects
• Coordinate with sales, operations, and other internal departments
• Maintain organized estimating files, pricing records, and bid documentation
• Communicate clearly with customers and internal stakeholders
• Identify scope gaps, pricing issues, and missing information before quotations are submitted
• Support commercial projects ranging from approximately $1,000 to $250,000

Must-Haves as the Commercial HVAC Estimator:

• 3+ years of commercial HVAC or mechanical estimating experience
• Experience reading commercial construction drawings and specifications
• Experience performing HVAC takeoffs and preparing project estimates or quotations
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and mechanical construction
• Ability to price equipment and material for plan-and-spec projects
• Strong computer skills
• Excellent organization and time management
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Stable work history
• Collaborative and team-oriented approach
• Ability to work onsite in Phoenix

Nice-to-Haves as the Commercial HVAC Estimator:

• Experience working for a commercial mechanical contractor
• Experience working for an HVAC manufacturer's representative
• Knowledge of commercial air distribution and ventilation products
• Existing familiarity with the Phoenix mechanical construction market
• Experience supporting sales teams during the bidding process
• Knowledge of manufacturers such as Price Industries, Loren Cook, Pottorff, Luxaire, Qmark, CaptiveAire, Samsung HVAC, Fantech, Western Vents, AboveAir, Carel, Big Ass Fans, FabricAir, Seiho, or Gas Detection Systems
• Experience preparing quotations for projects ranging from small equipment packages to larger commercial HVAC scopes

This Position Offers:

• Target hiring range of $65,000-$85,000
• Health insurance for employees and eligible family members after 90 days
