Job summary

CBRE is seeking an HVAC Engineer to maintain mechanical and electrical equipment for complex commercial HVAC systems. You will perform proactive testing, scheduled maintenance, and support repairs as part of Engineering and Technical Services.

Responsibilities include assigning tasks, installing and calibrating control systems, inspecting equipment, and ensuring safety compliance. Strong problem solving and MS Office skills are required, with 4–5 years of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 4–5 years of related experience preferred.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ability to analyze information from multiple sources and exercise judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Assign tasks to team members and ensure timely completion.
  • Install, repair, and maintain HVAC control systems and related instruments.
  • Inspect HVAC equipment for proper operation and code compliance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and propose modifications.
  • Share knowledge and coach others within the team.
  • Work within CBRE guidelines and contribute to service delivery.

About The Role

As a CBRE HVACEngineer, you will be responsible for maintaining mechanical and electricalequipment for complex commercial HVAC systems by conducting proactiveperformance testing and ongoing scheduled maintenance. This job is part of theEngineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible forproviding support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment andsystems.

What You’ll Do
  • Assign tasks toteam members. Ensure all duties are done in a timely manner.
  • Install, repair,adjust, service and maintain electric or pneumatic control systems used forbuilding heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems andequipment, including calibration of related instruments, gauges, and controlcomponents.
  • Inspect andconduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure properoperation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations,and work safety.
  • Troubleshootequipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipmentmodifications.
  • Apply in-depthknowledge of standard principles and procedures to accomplish complexassignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others andshare in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of severaljob disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by exampleand model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to buildconsensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
  • Impact a rangeofcustomer, operational, project or service activities within own team and otherrelated teams.
  • Work within broadguidelines and policies.
  • Explain difficultor sensitive information.
What You’ll Need
  • High SchoolDiploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience.In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will beconsidered. Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Meet the physicalrequirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbingstairs, and the ability to carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability toexercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness totake a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledgeof Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Sophisticated mathskills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages,fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
