Job summary

IPD Engineering is seeking an HVAC Engineer to lead projects from concept through construction administration. You will develop mechanical designs and construction documents, coordinate with junior engineers, review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and work with contractors to address issues and ensure project success.

You will draft HVAC construction drawings, perform load and energy calculations, design systems, select equipment, and coordinate all HVAC documentation through the project

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or HVAC Design Certification.
• Strong familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Drafts HVAC construction drawings including details, plans and sections.
• Performs HVAC load and energy calculations.
• Designs HVAC systems.
• Selects HVAC equipment.
• Coordinates all HVAC-related documentation through the project lifecycle.
• Leads design efforts and detailed drawings with staff and consultants.
• Responds to client questions and concerns in a timely manner.
• Leads design discussions and carries concept through drawings with sustainable strategies.
• Researches building performance and regulations as needed.

Job description

The HVAC Engineer serves as the lead HVAC engineer on projects from concept through construction administration. The role involves developing mechanical designs and construction documents, coordinating design tasks with junior engineers when appropriate, and supporting the project through construction. The HVAC Engineer also reviews shop drawings, responds to RFIs, and works directly with contractors in the field to address construction issues and support successful project execution.
