Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Sheet Metal Estimator for West Coast HVAC/ductwork projects. The role centers on reading plans, quantifying materials and labor, and building precise estimates using Bluebeam and Excel.

You will contribute to bids, coordinate with fabrication and project teams, and grow from Estimator I to higher levels based on performance. Our client emphasizes hands‑on learning, competitive hourly pay, and full benefits.

Qualifications

0–2 years in construction (internships, shop/field time, or estimating all count).
Related degree/certificate (CM, ME/MEP, drafting, or welding/fab).
Curiosity about how things are made; ability to reverse‑engineer drawings.
Beginner proficiency with Bluebeam and Excel; exposure to estimating tools is a plus.
Clear, concise communication.

Responsibilities

Own the fundamentals of takeoff on ductwork and accessories.
Read plans/specs, quantify materials & labor, and build clean estimate worksheets.
Contribute to live bids with senior estimator review; assist in preparing scopes, alternates, and inclusions/exclusions.
Partner with fabrication, PM, and field to validate production hours and logistics.
Use modern tools (Bluebeam + Excel; exposure to estimating platforms) and we'll train.
