Job summary

LeoForce in Pomona, CA is seeking an entry-level Estimator I to perform takeoffs for HVAC ductwork and accessories. You’ll quantify materials, labor, and build clean estimate worksheets, with guidance from senior staff.

You’ll contribute to live bids, develop scopes, and validate production hours with fabrication and site teams. Growth paths include Estimator II and Senior Estimator as you gain expertise.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years in construction or related field; internships count.
• Beginner proficiency with Bluebeam and Excel; some estimating tool exposure is a plus.
• Curiosity about fabrication and operating assumptions; asks questions to understand costs.

Responsibilities

• Own ductwork takeoff: read plans/specs and quantify materials and labor.
• Assist live bids with senior estimator review; help prepare scopes and inclusions/exclusions.
• Coordinate with fabrication, PM, and field to validate production hours and logistics.
• Support using Bluebeam and Excel; training on leading estimating platforms will be provided.

What you’ll do:

• Own the fundamentals of takeoff on ductwork and accessories: read plans/specs, quantify materials & labor, and build clean estimate worksheets.
• Contribute to live bids with senior estimator review; assist in preparing scopes, alternates, and inclusions/exclusions.
• Partner with fabrication, PM, and field to validate production hours and logistics so estimates reflect how work really gets built.
• Use modern tools (Bluebeam + Excel; exposure to leading sheet‑metal estimating platforms — we’ll train.

What you’ll learn here

• Fabrication‑first estimating: how shop standards, production rates, and installation logistics drive cost.
• How big projects move: RFIs, VE options, and bid‑day strategy with GCs/owners.

Growth path

You’ll thrive if you have

• 0–2 years in construction (internships, shop/field time, design/drafting, or estimating all count) or a related degree/certificate (CM, ME/MEP, drafting, or welding/fab).
• Curiosity about how things are made; you reverse‑engineer drawings and like tightening assumptions.
• Beginner proficiency with Bluebeam and Excel; exposure to any MEP/sheet‑metal estimating tool is a plus.
• Clear, concise communication—and you’re not afraid to ask “why.”
