MAHLE is seeking an HVAC Design & Product Engineering Intern in Farmington Hills, MI. Reporting to the Head of AC Design, you will learn MAHLE systems, assist in HVAC module design and testing, and gain exposure to DFMEA and DRBFM while supporting manufacturing sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Learn and use MAHLE systems to perform product engineering tasks, including test setup and data analysis with reports for review.
• Learn about HVAC module design from quality aspects, including drawings, DFMEA, DRBFM, etc.
• Assist with tasks in manufacturing plants or at customer sites as opportunities arise (may require travel).
• Participate and run HVAC module level tests.
• Contribute to problem solving using tools like 5 Whys, fishbone, and fault tree.

Your Contribution

The HVAC Design & Product Engineering Intern will be reporting to the Head of AC Design.

This role is responsible to:

• Learn & use MAHLE systems to work on Product Engineering tasks (Submitting VAMAS request, test set-up, analyze test data & generate reports to be reviewed & approved by team / management)
• Learn about HVAC module design from quality aspects, starting with Drawings (tolerance callouts), DFMEA, DRBFM etc.,
• If opportunity arise, help with tasks in manufacturing plants, customer sites etc., (this task requires travel)
• Participate and run HVAC module level tests.
• Get involved in problem solving initiative with team members using tools (5 whys, fish bone, fault tree etc.,)

Your Experience & Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Role open for Freshman or higher.
• CAD, CAE, Validation - Testing, Analysis & report creation.
• Experience or internship in relevant course work.
