Job summary

United Mechanical is seeking an Engineering Intern to support commercial HVAC and Plumbing system design in San Jose. You will gain real-world experience with our engineering and project management teams, participate in field surveys, and help prepare drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.

You will learn through mentoring, training sessions, and site/shop tours. The program runs June–August with opportunities to contribute to energy compliance work and project documentation while developing core

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Strong problem-solving skills and interest in building systems/mechanical construction.
• Ability to take direction, apply feedback, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication; attention to detail in calculations and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Support System Design: assist HVAC and/or Plumbing system design for commercial projects.
• Perform Engineering Calculations: load calculations, energy analysis, and related analyses.
• Create Engineering Drawings: assist with drawings in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Participate in Field Surveys: document site conditions and equipment to support design.
• Contribute to project deliverables: organize work, communicate progress, and meet schedules.
