Daikin Applied Americas in Staunton, VA is seeking a Designer II to use SolidWorks and related tools to design parts, create production drawings, and manage BOMs, ensuring manufacturability and cost considerations. You will translate concepts into manufacturing documentation, collaborate with Marketing/Sales on original designs, contribute to cross-functional teams, and travel up to 15% as needed.

Applicants have a technical degree, 2+ years' design experience, and proficiency with CAD software

Qualificações

• Vocational or Technical Degree in Design/Drafting or Equivalent Experience or Associates Degree in Design/Drafting
• 2+ years of experience of related design work
• Understanding of AMSE Y14.5 Design and drafting standards
• Sheet metal design and/or HVAC products
• Strong Communication skills - Written and verbal
• Experience with Excel - moderate to high level (preferred)
• SolidWorks Mechanical Basic Understanding
• DraftSight Basic Understanding
• Flexible to travel 10 to 15%
• SolidWorks electrical (Optional Skill)

Responsabilidades

• Create engineering documentation, including SolidWorks modeling, fabrication, and purchase drawings that conform to Daikin standards
• Translate engineering/marketing intent into manufacturing documentation
• Work with Marketing/Sales to provide documentation for original designs or custom modifications of current products to meet weekly production schedules
• Exhibit a sense of design and mechanical aptitude with abstract thinking and reasoning skills
• Complete work assignments within determined time frame and use judgment in determining assignment goals
• Gain knowledge of design and manufacturing practices, processes, and Daikin Products
• Be part of and function in a team environment including cross functional and inter-departmental teams
• Demonstrate an understanding of legacy bill of material systems and product structuring logic
