Job summary

EXP is seeking a Mechanical Designer/Engineer to join the HVAC design team for Hospitality projects in the Miami (Coral Gables) or Fort Lauderdale, FL offices. You will design HVAC systems, perform CAD work, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires 4+ years of HVAC experience in aviation, transit, and commercial building projects or internship experience. Bachelor's degree in HVAC/Mechanical Engineering; proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT MEP; EIT is preferred.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing HVAC systems for aviation, transit, or commercial buildings.
• Engineering bachelor’s degree in HVAC/Mechanical Engineering.
• AutoCAD, REVIT MEP familiarity; EIT certification toward PE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on CAD using AutoCAD MEP and/or Revit.
• Calculate heating and cooling loads with industry software (Trace, Energy Pro, DOE).
• Select and schedule equipment with oversight by senior staff.
• Layout air and water side systems on working drawings.
• Coordinate with other disciplines for HVAC details.
• Maintain the Engineering Calculation Book for projects.
• Manage design process to available hours in work plan.
