Job summary

EXP is seeking a Mechanical Designer/Engineer to join our Miami (Coral Gables) or Fort Lauderdale, FL office. You will join the Mechanical team on Hospitality HVAC design projects and support design for aviation, transit, and commercial building ventures.

You will perform hands-on CAD work, carry out load calculations, and coordinate with vendors and senior engineers to ensure equipment is correctly applied.

Qualifications

• Engineering Bachelor’s degree in HVAC/Mechanical Engineering.
• 4+ years of HVAC design experience for aviation, transit, and commercial building projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT MEP.
• EIT certification desired towards PE.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on CAD using AutoCAD MEP and/or Revit platforms.
• Conduct heating and cooling load calculations with industry software (Trace, Energy Pro, DOE).
• Select and schedule equipment with oversight by senior staff.
• Layout air and water side systems on working drawings.
• Coordinate with other disciplines (MEP, FP, arch, struct) for HVAC details.
• Maintain the Engineering Calculation Book for projects.
