Leading HVAC Projects Company in Chennai invites an HVAC Design Engineer with 2-7 years of hands-on experience to design HVAC systems for commercial and industrial projects. You will handle load calculations, duct/pipe sizing, equipment selection and BOQ preparation to meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities include design drafting, load calculations, equipment selection, and coordination with site teams to ensure standards compliance and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical with HVAC certification.
• Minimum 3 years in HVAC design for commercial/industrial projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP; Navisworks/Trace 700 a plus.
• Knowledge of psychrometrics, duct design, pipe sizing, static pressure calculations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and draft HVAC layouts, ducting, and piping drawings using AutoCAD & Revit MEP.
• Perform cooling/heating load calculations using HAP, E20, or ASHRAE methods.
• Select AHU, FCU, Chillers, VRF/VRV systems, pumps, and fans.
• Prepare BOQ, technical submittals, and material take-offs.
• Coordinate with site teams for design clarifications and resolve issues.

Job Summary We are looking for a detail-oriented HVAC Design Engineer with 2-7 years of hands‑on experience in HVAC system design for commercial/industrial projects. You will be responsible for load calculations, duct/pipe sizing, equipment selection, and BOQ preparation under project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Drafting: Prepare HVAC layouts, ducting, and piping drawings using AutoCAD & Revit MEP
• Load Calculations: Perform cooling/heating load calculations using HAP, E20, or manual methods as per ASHRAE standards
• Equipment Selection: Select AHU, FCU, Chillers, VRF/VRV systems, pumps, and fans based on project requirements
• BOQ & Documentation: Prepare Bill of Quantities, technical submittals, and material take-offs for tenders
• Site Coordination: Coordinate with projects & site teams for design clarifications and resolve site issues
• Standards Compliance: Ensure designs comply with NBC, ISHRAE, ASHRAE & local building codes
• Vendor Follow-up: Review vendor drawings and provide technical support during procurement

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical with relevant HVAC certification
• Experience: Minimum 3 years in HVAC design for projects -- commercial, residential, hospitals, IT parks preferred
• Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP. Knowledge of Navisworks/Trace 700 is a plus
• Technical: Strong understanding of psychrometrics, duct design, pipe sizing, static pressure calculations
• Soft Skills: Good communication, team player, ability to handle multiple projects
