Job summary

Thomas Young Group is expanding its Dallas team and seeks an engineer to design HVAC systems, perform load calculations, and select equipment. You’ll work closely with design and project teams to ensure compliance with codes and standards, while contributing to accurate construction documents.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree (ABET-accredited) and 3+ years in HVAC design, with AutoCAD/Revit proficiency and strong mentorship capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 3+ years of HVAC design experience in commercial or multifamily projects.
• Experience with load calculations using Manual J, TRACE, HAP, or equivalent.
• Proficient with ductwork, piping design, hydraulic calculations, and building codes.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems including load calculations and equipment selection.
• Prepare and review construction documents for accuracy.
• Collaborate with design and project teams to ensure code compliance.
• Support project budgets, schedules, and milestones.
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge.
