Job summary

Hooper Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and coordination of HVAC systems on design-build projects. You will plan, organize, and oversee execution to meet cost, quality, and safety objectives while maintaining client relationships.

The role requires a B.S. in mechanical engineering, 2–3 years of HVAC design experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD, NAVISworks, and REVIT. Occasional site visits and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• EIT certificate in Wisconsin preferred.
• 2–3 years of experience designing HVAC systems.
• Experience leading diverse project teams and coordination.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, NAVISworks, REVIT/REVIT MEP or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems (ductwork, piping, controls) for design-build projects.
• Pursue and secure new business opportunities by maintaining client relationships and presenting proposals.
• Coordinate with clients and other disciplines; oversee plan submittals for city/state reviews.
• Review shop drawings, track submittals, and distribute to vendors and stakeholders.
• Oversee drafting work and support project managers on design-assist projects and site coordination.
• Contribute to in-house design standards, quality programs, and LEED-related activities.
• Stay updated on relevant codes and participate in ongoing education and industry organizations.
• Conduct field surveys to assess conditions and ensure fit of the designed system.
