Job summary

Envelop Group, including Controlled Environmental Systems (CES), delivers advanced HVAC airflow control and monitoring solutions for critical environments. The Controls Technician will test, program, commission, and service these systems in labs, healthcare, and manufacturing settings.

The role requires a strong HVAC/control background, troubleshooting skills, and a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences on projects from start to finish.

Qualifications

• 3+ years installing/servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment.
• Thorough understanding of temperature controls and HVAC sequences.
• Experience with building automation platforms; Tridium preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, manuals, electrical diagrams, and control sequences.
• Excellent communication skills and customer-facing professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Perform job start up, checkout, and troubleshooting for airflow control systems.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings to determine balancing techniques and project approaches.
• Install, wire, and checkout fume hood controls.
• Perform wiring, terminations, checkouts, and assist in system start-ups.
• Oversee installation contractors and coordinate with construction to maintain budgets and schedules.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including installation records and commissioning reports.
• Attend job site meetings and complete customer training and closeout documentation.
• Enforce safety standards and manage company assets on site.
• Attend manufacturer training courses to gain system knowledge for lab control and air monitoring.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
