Job summary

Controlled Environmental Systems delivers advanced HVAC airflow control systems for critical environments such as research laboratories, healthcare facilities, pharmaceutical spaces, and clean rooms. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; Mechanical, electrical, or related technical degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience installing and/or servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment.
  • Thorough understanding of temperature controls and HVAC systems sequence and applications.
  • Programming, hardware, and troubleshooting experience with one or more Building Automation System platforms; Tridium preferred.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills, self-motivation, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate clearly with customers, contractors, and fellow employees.
  • Proven analytical skills and ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, manuals, electrical diagrams, and control sequences.
  • Experience in integration of low-voltage building subsystems using BACnet, N2, Modbus, etc. preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform job start up, checkout, and troubleshooting for new and existing airflow control & air monitoring systems.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and equipment performance data to determine proper balancing techniques and project management approaches.
  • Install, wire, & checkout of fume hood controls.
  • Perform wiring, terminations, checkouts, and assist in system start-ups utilizing commissioning tools.
  • Oversee installation contractors and work with the construction team to ensure that the job budget/schedule is maintained or exceeded.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including installation records, as-built drawings, programming files, and commissioning reports. Complete paperwork on time including time sheets, expense reports, posting of work orders, on-site documentation and project status reports.
  • Participate in job site meetings and final walk through on assigned jobs and complete all job closeout documentation and customer training.
  • Continually enforce safety to the highest standards and maintain security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions.
  • Attend training courses for multiple manufacturers to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to work on the lab control & air monitoring systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
