Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC controls technician to troubleshoot, install, commission and maintain mechanical, electrical, and low-voltage control components. You will respond to service and warranty calls, provide frontline technical support, and suggest system improvements to help customers run buildings more efficiently.

Qualifications

• Vocational School program or an associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field plus three years of industry experience in servicing electrical, electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
• Understanding of HVAC systems, sequence and applications.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude in mechanical and electro-mechanical fields.
• Able to use hand, power tools and electrical testing equipment such as a multi meter.
• Solid knowledge base in use of personal computers.
• Attention to detail.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Prior Metasys experience.
• Basic knowledge of IP networks.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, install, commission and perform preventative maintenance on HVAC control systems.
• Respond to service and warranty calls using Johnson Controls tools and various meters.
• Provide frontline technical and repair support to customers.
• Propose system repairs and recommendations to customers.
• Be part of a growing team of technicians within a global organization.
• Deliver high level service to resolve building inefficiencies and act as trusted advisor.
