Job description

Responsible for the installation, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of building automation systems. A successful HVAC Controls Technician applies engineering principles and practices to complete assigned projects, designs cost-effective solutions to meet project requirements, and develops positive working relationships with all company divisions and customers.

Responsibilities:

• Possesses knowledge of Mechanical Systems and Controls.
• Able to interpret controls drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Able to comprehend basic HVAC concepts.
• Maintains technical knowledge through required training and consistent review of product catalogs, specifications, and dealer websites.
• Designs and programs systems utilizing direct digital controls and automation systems for comfort control and energy savings.
• Configures programs, graphics, and alarms for site-specific control systems.
• Creates installation, submittal, and as-built drawings, and assists engineering in related close-out documents.
• Assists with final validation of system operation.
• Provides project team with technical direction and assists with programming, electrical terminations, commissioning, graphic development, test, and startup as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of experience in control/mechanical systems are required.
• Familiarity with the concepts of new construction, renovation/retrofit, and service project management.
• Experienced and knowledgeable in contracting processes associated with the installation of building automation systems.
• Familiarity with the operation of energy management systems, HVAC systems, and temperature controls.
• Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
• Customer service oriented, able to interact with and build a good rapport with customers.
