Honeywell is seeking a Sr Field Service HVAC Controls/BAS Technician to provide technical support and service for HVAC control systems and building automation. You will report to the Service Manager and work out of the Acton, MA location on a Hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will troubleshoot and resolve HVAC control issues, support system installations and commissioning, and ensure adherence to industry standards.
As a Sr Field Service HVAC Controls/BAS Technician here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for providing technical support and service for HVAC control systems and building automation systems (BAS). You will play an important role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our systems while delivering exceptional service to our customers.
You will report directly to our Service Manager and you'll work out of our Acton, MA location on a Hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will impact customer satisfaction and operational efficiency by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving HVAC control issues, supporting system installations and commissioning, and ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
This position requires 100% travel. You will follow a Monday through Friday schedule and be home every night. You will be required to be on-call every 6-8 weeks for 1 week and receive over-time pay regardless of whether you will need to service equipment at customer sites. You will be assigned a company vehicle, phone, laptop, travel and expense card, and all necessary tools for business use.
Perform onsite installation, commissioning, and service of Honeywell Building Automation Systems (BAS) , including DDC controllers, HVAC equipment, and networked control devices.
Provide technical support during projects and service activities, working with other technicians, subcontractors, and customers to ensure quality and timely execution.
Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics of HVAC control systems , including VAVs, AHUs, chillers, boilers, sensors, actuators, and communication networks (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks).
Program, configure, and commission Honeywell platforms such as Spyder, CIPer, WEBs, EBI, and Niagara-based systems .
Interpret control drawings, wiring schematics, and sequences of operation to validate system functionality and ensure proper integration.
Conduct system startups, point-to-point verification, and functional performance testing to meet project specifications and customer requirements.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, customers, and other trades to resolve technical issues and maintain project schedules.
Identify system optimization opportunities to improve energy efficiency, reliability, and overall building performance.
Ensure accurate documentation, redlines, service reports, and as-built drawings are completed and submitted in accordance with Honeywell standards.
Maintain strict adherence to Honeywell safety protocols, quality processes, and customer site compliance requirements.
1-2 years of experience in HVAC controls and building automation systems .
1-2 years of experience with strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and BAS technologies .
Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing HVAC control issues.
1-2 years of experience with programming and configuring HVAC control systems , including DDC controllers and software.
Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check, in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, HVAC Technology, or a related field.
Niagara (Niagara 4) Certification preferred or willing to get certification.
Knowledge of Honeywell BAS platforms such as Spyder, CIPer, WEBs, EBI, and Niagara.
Strong troubleshooting skills across HVAC controls, DDC systems, and open protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks) .
Experience working independently in the field and supporting other technicians when needed.
NICET or other industry certifications.
Strong customer communication and technical documentation skills.

The hourly range for this position is $57,500 - $71,900. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
