Job summary

Honeywell, a leader in software-industrial solutions, seeks a Sr Field Service Technician in Los Angeles to deliver high-level technical support and service to customers, troubleshoot complex issues, perform maintenance, and train customers and junior technicians.

You will respond to service calls, perform preventive maintenance, install simple control systems, promote strong customer relations, and help with contract retention, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in low-voltage control circuits.
• 2+ years configuring and troubleshooting BAS (Tridium Niagara, Metasys, etc.).
• 2+ years in HVAC Direct Digital Controls (DDC).
• 2+ years open-protocol automation (BACnet/Modbus/LonWorks).
• Knowledge of HVAC, electronic and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and sequences of operation.
• TCP/IP networking knowledge a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

Job Description

As a Sr Field Service Technician here at Honeywell, you will have the opportunity to provide high-level technical support and service to our customers, ensuring the optimal performance of Honeywell products and systems. You will troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, perform maintenance and repairs, and provide training and guidance to customers and junior technicians. Your expertise and dedication will drive customer satisfaction and contribute to the success of our service operations. In this role, you will impact the efficiency and reliability of our service operations, enhance customer satisfaction, and support the growth of our business by ensuring the highest standards of service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled routine preventive maintenance on mechanical or electrical equipment/systems under contract agreement by inspecting, adjusting, cleaning and calibrating systems and checking out equipment to ensure it's in satisfactory working order.
• Complete preventative maintenance in a manner that reduces emergency calls and results in achieving the goal of zero calls back.
• Respond to emergency service calls as directed to keep system downtime to minimum. Analyze, troubleshoot, repair and restore equipment/systems to full operation and recommend revisions/replacements when necessary to improve system.
• Make minor repairs to mechanical units, remotes, I/O equipment, CPU's and software systems.
• Perform or assist with installing simple control systems or modifications to existing systems.
• Instruct and/or train customers or customer representatives on systems maintenance and operating procedures.
• Promote, build and maintain good customer relations and assist in contract retention; inform supervisor of customer needs, requirements, systems status, and actual or potential customer problems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience working with low-voltage control circuits, including electrical diagnostics, logical troubleshooting, and system fault resolution.
• 2+ years of hands‑on experience configuring, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting building automation systems (BAS) such as Tridium Niagara, Honeywell, Johnson Controls Metasys, or Siemens platforms.
• 2+ years of experience in HVAC Direct Digital Controls (DDC), including installation, startup, commissioning, calibration, and troubleshooting of HVAC control systems.
• 2+ years of experience working with open-protocol building automation and integration technologies, including BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks/LonMark, Tridium, and Echelon-based control products, with the ability to integrate and support multi-vendor systems.
• Technical knowledge of HVAC, electronic and mechanical systems and/or Direct Digital Controls Systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC controls, and computer systems.
• Experience in creating program files for various application specific controllers. Set trends and reports as required by management.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and various sequences of operation.
• Network knowledge with TCP/IP communications and supervisory devices a plus.
• Excellent oral, written, phone, and customer-relations skills.
• High School diploma or GED.
• The annual base salary range for this position is $58,400min - $73,000mid. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
