Trane Technologies plc in the Orlando/Tampa area is hiring a Controls Estimator II to join our team. You will prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC controls projects, including materials, labor, and subcontractors, helping Account Managers bid accurately for energy-efficient building solutions.

The role requires a technical degree and relevant estimating experience; working onsite with flexible Friday locations.

Qualifications

• Requires 3–7 years in estimating, engineering or construction management
• Associates or Bachelor’s in engineering or related field accepted
• Must have proven experience with Building Automation and HVAC systems
• Strong financial and business acumen; ability to manage project costs
• Willingness to work overtime/weekends as needed

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates including materials, labor, and sub-contractors
• Develop detailed scope from design-build plans for competitive bidding
• Create cost estimates with sketches, vendor quotes and definitions
• Take off quantities and price purchased equipment for accuracy
• Lead pre-bid meetings with Account Managers to review scope and strategy
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate with vendors
