Job summary

EMCOR Services Mesa Energy in California is seeking an Application Engineer II to coordinate planning and design of control systems, including programming and configuration.

The role requires collaboration with field electricians and engineers to translate equipment needs into workable control solutions. A Bachelor's in Engineering with 4+ years' experience, including 2+ in applications, is expected; EIT/PE are a plus. Visio/AutoCAD experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent field.
• 4+ years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in applications engineering.
• EIT or PE license desired.
• Knowledge of electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and programming.
• Working knowledge of two HVAC control systems (Distech/Delta/Schneider/JCI).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with control system architecture design, programming or maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Identify MEP systems on drawings.
• Coordinate planning and design of control systems, including programming and configuration.
• Interact with field electricians and specify installation methods.
• Develop controls submittals with minimal supervision.
• Identify potential scopes of work for controls implementation.
• Design complex electrical circuits (VFDs, starters, sensors, actuators).
• Create P&IDs based on mechanical equipment only.
