Job summary

Uhl Company Inc in Maple Grove, MN is seeking an experienced HVAC Controls Design Engineer to design building automation projects and collaborate with customers and sales teams. You'll review scopes, help create layouts, and ensure proper system installation.

The role requires at least 2 years of technical education, experience with BACnet/LON, and strong IT and HVAC knowledge. Office-based with occasional site visits; background check and driver's license required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of technical education and relevant field experience.
• Experience with Building Automation Systems; familiarity with LON and BACnet protocols.
• Strong computer skills and electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Solid understanding of HVAC and IT systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Must pass background check and have a valid driver’s license.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision; office-based with site visits.

Responsibilities

• Design building automation controls projects with customers and sales teams.
• Collaborate with Sales and Account Managers to meet customer expectations.
• Communicate with building owners, contractors, and field staff.
• Review sales scopes and mechanical drawings.
• Prepare design documents, including system layouts and electrical drawings.
• Provide technical support to installation teams.
• Design network architecture for operator workstations and controllers.
• Develop HVAC equipment operation sequences.
• Manage ordering of products and equipment.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure proper system installation.
• Create operations and maintenance (O&M) manuals.
