Job summary

Trinity University seeks an experienced HVAC Controls Technician (non-exempt) to support the Buildings & Grounds team. The role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing building automation systems, including DDC and PLC-based controls, and coordinating with contractors for system changes.

The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of field experience in HVAC controls, DDC commissioning, and software integration, plus a valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Formal OJT or Apprentice Program preferred.
• Completion of a two year vocational training or apprenticeship in HVAC.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs building automation system field cabinets and associated equipment.
• Writes and debugs computer programs for energy consumption and utility reports.
• Coordinates university and contractor personnel for system additions or modifications.
• Monitors work in progress and job costs on building automation systems.
• Assists in design and implementation of building automation hardware and software.
