Position Summary
The HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) Control Technicianuses knowledge of air conditioning principles, HVAC equipment, andpneumatic and electrical/electronic/DDC controls to perform skilledwork. This position performs \"hands on\" preventative maintenance,repairs, and troubleshooting. Work performed includes, but is notlimited to, replacing broken or worn parts, evaluating replacementalternatives, equipment set-ups, equipment alignment/calibrationand maintaining appropriate state licenses. Equipment includes butis not limited to industrial/commercial/domestic HVAC andrefrigeration equipment, motors, audio visual equipment,scoreboards, lighting systems, pumps, compressors, boilers, cardaccess systems, building alarm and DDC control systems.
This position will provide event support for athletic andnon-athletic activities/events. Event Support will includescheduling building automation equipment and repairing equipment,in addition to miscellaneous tasks required during the course of anevent. The HVAC control technician shift is typically Sunday thruThursday.
The purpose of this job is to maintain the Athletic FacilitiesSystems Equipment and support large Athletic Events. Responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of theintercollegiate athletics program, including adherence to alldepartment policies and procedures, as well as the rules andregulations of the university, Big Ten Conference and theNCAA.
Minimum Requirements
Note, two additional years of qualifying experience may besubstituted for the two years of education. For example, four yearsof full-time qualifying experience will meet the minimumqualifications for this position.
