Job summary

Design Heating and Air Conditioning in San Jose, CA seeks an Engineering/Design team member capable of working independently and coordinating with the design team and trades. Responsibilities include AutoCAD drawings, submittals, take-offs, plan updates, and city permit processes.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication, detail orientation, and the ability to pass background and safety checks. Training will be provided for drafting and California T-24 forms, with potential field

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

DHAC is growing again and is seeking to recruit a long-term team member in the Engineering/ Design department. This individual will need to be able to work independently and have the ability to coordinate with the design team & other professional trades. The individual will also be responsible for preparing submittals, complete California T-24 forms, & occasionally perform field surveys.

Location: San Jose, CA

Reports to: Project Manager

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create construction drawings using AutoCAD software
• Creating submittal packages
• Verify take-off changes from the field
• Update plans as requested
• Assist in submitting plans and correcting redlines
• Ensure compliance with city and county codes
• Obtain required city permits
• Collaborate with team members to solve various project challenges
• Other duties as assigned

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Great communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong, positive personality supporting the project team
• Mechanical Engineering (or similar) Bachelor's Degree (Not required - extensive training will still be provided)
• Previous experience & proficiency in drafting (Not required - extensive training will still be provided)
• Deadline and detail orientated
• Experience with Windows OS, Outlook, Microsoft Word & Excel
• Must be able to pass background & DMV record check & drug test (as needed)
