Job description

Haddad Plumbing and Heating Inc. is seeking a Drafter to join our design and project support team. The Drafter will work closely with Project Managers, engineers, and architects to prepare accurate and detailed technical drawings for mechanical construction projects. This role is responsible for converting design concepts, sketches, and specifications into high‑quality 2D and 3D CAD drawings to support construction planning and execution. The ideal candidate will be highly detail‑oriented, technically proficient, and capable of collaborating across disciplines to ensure drawings meet applicable codes, industry standards, and project requirements. The Drafter reports to the assigned Project Manager and plays a key role in supporting project accuracy, coordination, and successful delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Design plans using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software to produce detailed 2D/3D drawings, floor plans, elevations, and cross-sections
  • Work from rough sketches and specifications created by engineers and architects to understand project requirements and incorporate feedback
  • Help design products with engineering and manufacturing techniques
  • Add details to architectural plans from your knowledge of building techniques
  • Prepare multiple versions of designs for review by engineers and architects
  • Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for new products
  • Modify existing product drawings that might require an update to add new features or have a different physical appearance
  • Ensure all drawings meet industry standards, building codes, and project specific guidelines
  • Create manuals that describe existing products’ operation, features and maintenance
  • Work under the supervision of Sr. Leadership
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in drafting, architecture, engineering or a related field
  • 3-5 years of demonstrable experience as a drafter in a reputed firm, with a strong portfolio of accurate and detailed technical drawings
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and the ability to produce high-quality drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in drafting, ensuring that all dimensions and specifications are accurate
  • Familiarity with construction and manufacturing processes with an understanding of design standards, symbols and drafting conventions in The United States
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with project stakeholders
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to find practical solutions to design challenges.
  • Additional certification from the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) is a plus
Compensation

$60,000 – $70,000 Annually

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full‑time position. The days and hours of work are Monday through Friday: 7:00 am – 5:00 pm.
